The NextApp Technical Keyboard is a derivative of the AOSP keyboard, featuring added arrow keys, special keys, and a slightly adjusted QWERTY layout resembling a PC keyboard. It offers a variety of themes to choose from.

The keyboard includes a "precision feedback" feature that intensifies vibration feedback when key presses are off-center and delivers a double-pulse feedback upon autocorrection.

This app is currently in BETA RELEASE phase. For any issues encountered, please report them to [email protected] as the Play Store review system is not conducive to detailed conversations.

It ships with dictionaries in English, French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazilian), Russian, and Spanish.

Feedback on the keyboard layouts, especially the placement of special keys on the alphabet, symbols, and function keyboards, is highly appreciated.

Function Keyboard

This keyboard incorporates a function key ("Fn") in its lower left corner to provide access to additional keys commonly found on PC or Mac keyboards:

• Cursor Arrow Keys
• Page Up / Page Down
• Insert, Delete, Home, and End
• Function F1-F12
• Ctrl and Alt
• Tab
• Escape

The standard QWERTY layout has been minimally adjusted to better mirror that of a PC keyboard. Notably, the size of the left shift key has been reduced, aligning the third row (ZXCVBNM) more symmetrically. The shift key now adheres to a standard size. This alteration applies solely to phones; AOSP tablet keyboards already adopt this layout.

Permissions

This keyboard is based on the AOSP keyboard from Android KitKat 4.4 with identical permissions. The "read contacts" permission is used for autocompleting names from your contacts. Rest assured that this keyboard does not transmit any data to external parties.
